Taylor Swift's World Tour 1st stop Singapore

Taylor Swift made the first stop of her Speak Now Tour in Singapore on Feb.9, 2011 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium . As this was the first time she has ever performed in Singapore, fans waited with anticipation to greet her at the airport. Taylor took her time greeting fans by signing autographs and taking pictures. Later she ended up in the middle of a street party and being the carefree spirit that she is, she joined right in. Singapore fans who waited outside the venue were thrilled when Taylor arrived and came out to meet them.

Opening for Taylor was the Singapore Idol 2009, Sezairi Sezali, who was thrilled to be opening for his Idol. After only a fifteen minute set, the lights came up and they finished setting up for Taylor.

According to tweets from people that were there and audio and video that I have seen, the crowd was going wild. Taylor came out and didn't disappoint. She sang a 13 song setlist.

Taylor ended the night by falling backwards into a mattress. Then she met with fans for the T-party.

I am so glad that Taylor went to Singapore. She has a huge fan base there that is still singing praises about the show. I have heard some say they wished she would have done two nights there.

To "Stalk" or not to stalk, this is my question?

This is an interesting topic to me because people take the word stalk to mean different things. So what exactly does stalking mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, stalking is to pursue obsessively and to the point of harassment.

If we are talking about a person who lived a normal everyday life it would be one thing, but what if we are talking about a celebrity? How far can a fan actually go to not be considered a stalker or is it even about the fan? Is it the personality of the celebrity?

Those of you who know me personally, know that I have met quite a few celebrities in my time. You also know that I have been a huge fan of Cher for many years. Over the last year or so, I have also gone to numerous Taylor Swift concerts and events with my seventeen year old daughter.

Taylor Swift opened her Speak Now World Tour last night in Singapore. As I was reading tweets and such, I discovered a person with actually a really good idea, but has she gone to far? This Taylor fan is now tweeting pretty much every move Taylor makes on this World Tour. The time Taylor was landing at the airport was tweeted. The hotel Taylor was staying at was tweeted. They knew where Taylor was during the day and so on. Singapore was very excited to have Taylor there. They welcomed her very warmly and the concert was awesome from what I have seen and read. I think they deserved every chance they could get to meet her. I just don't know if it should be posted on twitter for 2,877 followers to see.

I think that sometimes, we the fans get really caught up in all of the excitement and don't stop to think that they need their private time too. However, I also think how much is too much is up to the celebrity.

Taylor Swift for example, is remarkable. I have never seen another artist that cares so much for their fans and goes out of the way to show it, nor have I ever seen her personally turn down a fan. It doesn't matter where she is or who she is with. Now, her people may stop her or stop someone, but it has never been her. I think she was probably flattered by the crowd at the airport. I think she is very happy that so many can relate to her music and she welcomes the fans.

On the other hand, there is Cher. Geez her people would call you a stalker if you stayed in the same hotel and they did! They would go above and beyond to sneak Cher out of places to avoid fans. I am sure there were a few times when we got caught up in the excitement. I mean yes, we went to her hotel, and yes we went to her house, but when we did these things it was in small groups and not posted for all to see. I understand that measures have to be taken to insure the safety of the Artist, but as far as hard core fans go, we would be the last ones to harm someone which we had so much passion for.

So, I guess in the end, stalking does mean different things to different people, but we must remember, in the actions that we take, to put the Artist first and not do anything that could harm them in the end.

The end of another chapter, but there will be more Cher to share ?

Tonight, Feb. 5, 2011 marks the end of Cher's three year run at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. Most of the die-hards are in attendance. I, being a long time fan of Cher, chose not to go.

When Cher opened three years ago, I attended several shows. The only difference at first was that cameras were not allowed. Then, if you stood, chances were someone would hit you in the back. If that was not enough, sailor hat's were no longer allowed to be thrown. What? Are you kidding me? No sailor hat for Cher? Isn't that a sin?

So I figured, I could go, pay 278.00 and be unhappy or I could just bite the bullet and understand that I was not going to be happy in that situation and not go. Since I chose the latter, I have not seen Cher perform live in two years.

Tonight, I am sure, is going to be a bittersweet event for many fans. Rumor is that she will tour again, but is it just that - a rumor? "After All", Cher has performed a Farewell Tour and a three year run in Vegas.

Well, let's look at the facts.

Cher started performing when she was 16.

This is the only type of work Cher has ever known.

Cher is currently 64 years old.

If I were a betting woman, I would wager everything on Cher touring again. Even though she is past retirement age, for some reason, I just can't see Cher sitting in a rocking chair knitting.

Knock one thing off of the bucket list!

I always speak of the bucket list and although I haven't really sat down and taken the time to write one, I do know that there are things I would like to do before I leave this world. One of those things was ziplining. Well, I took that leap and went ziplining 39 stories high on a cruise ship 2 weeks ago. At first it was like, um no I will not step off of that ledge, but then I remembered that this is something I always wanted to do. It was quite awesome once I got going. I am very glad that I had the chance to do this and that I actually went through with it. Now on to conquer some of the other things I would like to do.

More Photos Of The Allure Of The Seas

I wanted to show more details of the activities that were available on board The Allure Of The Seas, so I am adding a few more pics.

Final Thoughts On The Cruise

I have cruised several times before, but without a doubt this was the best. I have been told that it will be 3 to 5 years until another ship will be built to top this ship. I can believe it! Top of the line RCL. You did it right this time!
